Little Rippen Tor

This small and rather insignificant rockpile is tucked under the lower south east shoulder of Rippon Tor proper which is in itself a magnificent eminence that is visible from several vantage spots on South Dartmoor.

Little Rippen Tor has a higher mostly flattened earthbound outcrop that overlooks a good sized roving clitter of large rocks within which a stout rowan tree has grown. The rocks here are substantial tumbled on the hillside beneath the upper pile but well away from the main tor to warrant a separate identity.

Views are concentrated downhill towards Saddle Tor and beyond to the mass of Hey Tor's twin bosses. This is a little tor in a quiet place with very good scenery.
