Brake Tor

This small but quite impressive tor extends downhill above the private driveway to Brake not far from the village centre of Lustleigh.

It consists of several moss and vegetation-covered huge boulders of which some can be seen from the wayside as it passes beneath the main bulk.

The tor also overlooks a fine example of a slotted gatepost at SX 78046 81327 that shows four deeply cut slots into the worked granite post that once supported one side of a gate. These are seen all over the moor but they are particularly common in and around Lustleigh.
